School Trip in Rome: from Imperial Times to the Renaissance and Baroque
This educational itinerary is designed to guide students through the most important historical and artistic sites of the Italian capital, from the remains of ancient Rome to the masterpieces of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
The program offers an engaging journey through monumental heritage, significant institutions, and prestigious museums, combining art, history, and cultural identity into a rich learning experience for school groups.
Program
Day 1
Historic Center and Baroque Rome
Arrival in Rome in the late morning and meeting with your guide. Begin a walking tour in the heart of the historic center, visiting some of the city’s most iconic sites: Piazza di Spagna, the Quirinal Palace, the famous Trevi Fountain, Monte Citorio, and Palazzo Chigi.
Lunch break with packed lunches. In the afternoon, continue exploring with visits to the Pantheon, the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi (famous for its Caravaggio paintings), Palazzo Madama, and Piazza Navona, one of the prime examples of Roman Baroque art.
Transfer to the hotel, check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2
Imperial and Monumental Rome
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a guided visit to the Colosseum, with historical and architectural insights. Continue with a visit to the Arch of Constantine, the remains of Domus Aurea, and the Ludus Magnus, the ancient gladiators’ training school.
The itinerary proceeds to the Roman Forums and the Palatine Hill, where students will observe the Stadium of Domitian, the Aula Regia, and the imperial residences. Lunch break with packed lunches from the hotel or at a partner restaurant.
In the afternoon, explore Piazza Venezia and viewpoints including the Altar of the Fatherland, the Capitoline Hill, the Theatre of Marcellus, and the Forum Boarium.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Villa Borghese and Return Home
After breakfast, depart for Villa Borghese. Visit the prestigious Galleria Borghese, home to masterpieces by Bernini, Canova, and Caravaggio.
Continue with the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art and a walk through the park’s tree-lined avenues. Lunch break with packed lunches from the hotel or at a partner restaurant.
In the early afternoon, departure by coach for the return journey, with estimated arrival in the evening.
